Senate Finance defeats Schumer's Public Option 10-13

facepalm.
the insurance industry is loving this. theyre already having visions of the tons and tons of money that they will gain from this “reform.” the baucus bill requires everyone to get insured (there are subsidies for people without jobs, etc, etc). no public option means loads of new customers forced into getting coverage from the oh so lovely insurance companies.
in theory, dont republicans like market competition? let the good thrive, let the bad die, amiright? so lets give the insurance companies some damn competition. sure the government run healthcare would probably be a dick to work with for some people and wouldnt be as good as private insurance for others, but at least people could have a choice to get coverage that wasnt overpriced in order to pay for commercials and to overpay ceos.
